The Waltron Data Center Coolant Integrity Monitoring Unit (CIMU)
The Waltron Data Center CIMU — Coolant Integrity Monitoring Unit — is currently under development as a new monitoring platform designed specifically for liquid-cooled data centers.

Purpose-Built Coolant Integrity Monitoring for Direct Liquid Cooling Systems
Drawing on more than a century of experience in water chemistry management, Waltron is developing its all-new Data Center CIMU from the ground up around the unique requirements of high-density and AI data center cooling systems. The objective is simple: provide early warning when coolant condition begins to depart from its qualified operating state, without turning data center operators into water chemists.
CIMU is being developed as a compact, low-maintenance, continuously recirculating monitoring system for Technology Cooling System (TCS) loops, with particular emphasis on installation at or near the Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU).

Key Features
- Purpose-designed for data center direct liquid cooling rather than adapted from a conventional industrial water analyzer
- Continuous monitoring of multiple complementary coolant-condition parameters
- Fluid-specific baseline and trend monitoring designed to identify meaningful changes before individual parameters necessarily reach alarm limits
- Simple GREEN / AMBER / RED coolant-condition indication for operators, with detailed measurements and trends available for investigation
- Reagentless core measurement architecture under development
- Continuously recirculating side-stream design intended to return monitored coolant to the TCS chemically unchanged
- Compact architecture designed for installation at or near the CDU
- Low-maintenance design philosophy for unattended data center operation
- Integrated leak detection
- Two-valve grab-sample capability for follow-up laboratory or coolant-supplier analysis
- Designed to complement approved coolant chemistry and operating limits established by coolant suppliers and equipment manufacturers
Final mechanical specifications are under development.
Waltron’s design objective is a compact, low-maintenance instrument suitable for integration with modern CDU and TCS installations, with no routine sample discharge from the primary monitoring stream.
